We recently took an afternoon and went to hike around Winstead Hill. It's a memorial to the Confederate soliders who lost their lives in the Battle of Franklin. Col. Winstead had an incredible lookout of downtown Franklin from the top of the hill. He made it his post during the battle.
There is a wonderful little path around the base of the hill that made for a short hike.
Here's a picture of the kids with their "hiking" sticks. We always talk about Grandad when we go hiking!
