Granny & Grand dad drove up for a visit last weekend. We hadn't really made any plans for their visit but ended up having a fairly eventful time. On Saturday we all piled into the Tahoe (yeppie - my vehicle has a seat for everyone!) and drove to Nashville. Phyllis & SL hadn't seen downtown before. We walked around Broadway, stopped into the historic Ryman auditorium and ate some TN BBQ for lunch. Afterwards we drove down Music Row and went to Centennial Park to see the Parthenon. It was open, so we went in & saw the museum and several reproductions of the statues that were in the original Parthenon in Athens. It was pretty fascinating and the kids were in awe that they could move the world's largest metal doors.
On Monday Granny & Grand dad took the kids to Starbucks (a big treat to do with Grand dad), paint pottery, and eat lunch. They all had a good time.
Since I failed to remember Deuce's 5th birthday on February 11th, we made homemade dog treats this weekend. Phyllis bought the DVD of Mama Mia! and we watched that together on Monday night. Rachel was engrossed by the music and has been singing ABBA all week.
On Tuesday morning, Granny & Grand dad pulled out of the driveway to head back to Texas. Rachel announced, "This is a sad day." I quickly distracted the kids by putting on clothes & going to the Y for a workout and they played in Kids Gym.
