Raising Cats & Dogs

It's going to be difficult for me to adequately describe the last 2 hours of my life. I'm going to try.

It started when I brought in a large box from the garage that was full of packing peanuts. I needed them to put together some items for our church's auction to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.
Of course children are like magnets to packing peanuts. By the time I was done with what I needed to do, the kids were hiding themselves in the box, now only 1/3 full of peanuts. They took turns hiding in and opening the box to find one another. Each time they come out of the box they act like an animal that was just delivered to our front door. "Oh, I've always wanted a frog!" I would exclaim. Or a cat, or a dog, or a puppy, or a snake.

It's now 7:45pm, and this activity started about 5:00pm. For the majority of the time, they are dogs and cats. So, I am constantly hearing:
whimpering
barking
meowing
purring
yelping
humming
slurping -- yes, they have bowls of water on the kitchen floor!

I am witnessing:
playing fetch
scratching behind the ears with toes
crawling
scratching furniture (which I'm supposed to punish with a pretend spray bottle of water)
patting on the back
licking paws
shaking paws
panting and begging...a lot of panting and begging!

David's animal faces are particularly funny. Apparently they have both been paying very close attention to everything Deuce does.

I have a feeling that Greg will be bathing dogs tonight and I'll be telling them to "jump on the bed" at bedtime.
