We had a wonderful Easter day and I can't wait to get the pictures loaded on the computer and posted for ya'll to see.
Like her brother & friends, Rachel found lots of eggs but unfortunately she also ended up with an ankle fracture! She was running in the grass in the backyard and twisted it. On Monday morning it looked like a red baseball was sticking out of her ankle. I scheduled the first appointment I could get with the Ortho doctor (who we loved so much when David fell from the swingset and needed the "pirate boot" last year). We RICEd her all day yesterday - Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevate.
This afternoon I kept the appointment and took her in. I honestly felt a little funny bringing her in because of the tremendous improvement in how it looked - the swelling was down and the color had become more sudtle. But, I thought, better safe than sorry; it couldn't hurt to get an MD's opinion and know how to keep it safe when she returns to preschool tomorrow. Needless to say, it's a good thing I took her in. She's wearing an air cast and we go back to get it checked in 10 days. The doctor estimates that she'll be wearing it for 3 weeks. Never a dull moment around here and Thank God for Motrin!
