Rachel's ankle is healing

Today we went to the orthopaedic doctor to follow-up on Rachel's fractured ankle. The x-ray showed the bone's growth plate had healed. Yeppie! However...as a precautionary measure, the doctor recommended that she continue wearing the air cast for another week whenever she's playing outside or at school. In the chance that the ligament was injured, this will ensure it fully heals as well. I appreciated that he actually asked me about her activity plans for the coming 2-3 weeks and took those into consideration on how to proceed. He knew we want her to be well for hiking in the Smokies in early May and returning to swimming lessons.
