David's First Baseball Game

Last Saturday at 11:30am, life as we know it at the Waller's House changed. David is officially a baseball player and he loves every second of it. He was so excited; repeatedly asking Rachel and me if we would cheer for him...if we would cheer loudly for him...if we would watch him during the game. Yes, yes, yes!!!
They played 3 innings, consisting of each player at bat one time. The boys rotated to 3 different field positions. David played short stop, first base and then center right field.
No score was kept - everyone on base was cheered on to run home after the last batter hit. I suppose to build up the boys' confidence, the batting Tee was used everytime for every player this game. Honestly, I think David hits better with a pitch, but he did just fine.
At the end of the game, the coach gave a brief congratulatory huddle (and all important snack) and gave out 2 game balls - one for best offensive play and one for defensive play. David received the ball for best defense. While playing center right outfield in the last inning, he caught a ball that quickly bounced his direction. Yeah, David, #6!!
There are many pictures here because I just can't narrow it down. Enjoy!
Arriving at the ball fields Heading towards short stop in first inning Receiving a practice grounder from Coach while Daddy assists an outfielder with an untied shoe First time at bat; only lefty on the field! Running to second base (Greg is 2nd base coach) Last time at bat - a solid hit to short stop Coach Matthew hands out game balls David receives Defensive Game Ball for making a great catch in the third inning
