Introduction

Last week I was asked to be the Mystery Reader at David's preschool. This basically involves showing up 20 minutes before the end of the day with a book or two in hand to read to the class. When I arrived, it was obvious that this was a big deal -- the kids were so excited to see a Mommy arrive early.
Ms. Dorothy and Ms. Janice instructed the kids to sit in a circle for story time. Once everyone was settled, Ms. Dorothy asked David if he would like to stand up and introduce the mystery reader. David jumped and came to my side.
He put his arm around my shoulder. "This is Mommy," he announced.
Ms. Dorothy asked, "Can you tell us Mommy's name?"
David shugged his shoulders, so I whispered a clue into his ear, "What does Daddy call me?"
David smiled and confidently announced to the class, "This is Hon."
We then enjoyed reading Me, Too Woody (A Toy Story book) and I Love Trains.
