I'm very happy to share that David had a wonderful experience in the dentist chair for the first time. He jumped right in and announced "Ready" for the hygienist to start reclining the seat. Without asking, he stated that he wanted bubblegum toothpaste. He sat still and stared at the tv while his tongue followed every tool around in his mouth.
We were a little surprised to learn that David has only 19 baby teeth. 10 on top and 9 on the bottom. One of his bottom teeth is very big - and we're hoping it's holding the space for 2 permanant teeth. We'll just have to wait & see for a few years to see.
At the end of the cleaning, David was proud of his new 'Mater toothbrush and the orange car he chose out of the treasure box. As we were walking out of the office, he told each office person good-bye and then turned to me and said, "Mom, I did it. And I didn't cry."

Good job David!!!!
Wow! You can't ask for a better first visit than that. Mommy must have done a good job preparing him for it :)
